The Canon R5 is the new flagship mirrorless camera, designed to set new standards in both photography and videography. With internal RAW recording using an 8K full-frame sensor at up to 29.97 frames per second and 4K recording at up to 119.88 frames per second in 10-bit 4:2:2 Canon Log or 10-bit 4:2:2 HDR PQ, the Canon EOS R5 opens up entirely new cinematic worlds and dynamic new ways to tell your story. The highly acclaimed Dual Pixel CMOS AF is fully functional in all video modes, at all resolutions and with all frame rates. The new 5-axis image stabiliser even works in 8K video resolution.

Advanced frame grabbing from video footage also opens up new possibilities for photographers

Individual frames can be easily extracted from 4K and 8K video modes as high-resolution still images. This works at a resolution of at least 8 MP at up to 120 frames per second in 4K, and in 8K at a resolution of 33 MP at up to 30 frames per second. This also opens up new creative possibilities for photographers to capture spectacular shots.

More than just face detection

Now everything comes into focus. Thanks to the enhanced AF tracking for animal subjects, the EOS R5 can recognise dogs, cats and birds – either by their body, head or eyes.

For the first time in a Canon camera, internal image stabilisation is available, working in conjunction with Canon RF lenses featuring built-in image stabilisation to deliver the ultimate in shake-free, super-sharp images and videos. Filming or taking photos without a tripod – now with the confidence that you can always achieve the sharpest results.

Cloud connectivity.

The built-in Wi-Fi can be linked to the brand-new Canon image.canon cloud system to capture and transfer images and videos on the go. The Canon EOS R5 can then automatically transfer footage, allowing you to edit images whilst on the move – or have them automatically downloaded to your PC at home.

When performance matters, it’s worth taking a closer look at the details. Two memory card slots (SD UHS-II and CFexpress) ensure reliability and a much longer maximum recording time.
