Tripods that can withstand even the toughest conditions – whilst standing out from the crowd – that’s the Punks series from British manufacturer 3 Legged Thing, which has long since become a classic. 3LT has now given the Punks a revamp – the trio of Corey, Travis and Trevor is more colourful, better and more comfortable than ever before. As well as stylish new finishes in fresh colours, the series has now been brought up to the current 3LT standard with detachable legs, a ball head with improved tactile buttons, stronger fastenings and a new bag. A travel-friendly all-rounder: a packed size of 36 cm supports a load capacity of 14 kg! The four-stage extension of the tripod legs (5 sections) enables the Punk Corey’s ultra-compact pack size of just 35 cm whilst still offering high stability. To support a load of up to 14 kg, the tripod legs are made from a particularly high-quality aluminium-magnesium alloy. For a wide range of applications, the tripod legs can be locked into 3 different angle positions (23, 55 and 80 degrees) using a simple sliding mechanism. Innovation 1: All three legs are detachable! From a large professional tripod to a tabletop, table tripod or monopod? It’s possible! To make this conversion possible, the 3LT design team has made not just one, as is usually the case, but all three legs removable. The separately available VANZ Spikes (mini-legs, so to speak) can then be screwed into the top section. This feature opens up a wide range of new applications in macro photography as well as in tabletop photography. Naturally, the two-stage centre column is also removable and can be inverted to allow focusing particularly close to the ground. Innovation 2: Update for the ball head The designers at 3LT have revamped the tried-and-tested AirHed Neo ball head: the handles of the compact yet powerful ball head now feature new, ribbed grip surfaces – for even better ergonomics and improved ease of use. The knobs and the turntable are pleasantly damped and offer perfectly calibrated resistance. New feature 3: ¼-inch thread for accessory arm A ¼-inch internal thread has now been milled directly beneath the Tri-Mount head plate. Ideal for photo and video productions, as a separate accessory arm (not included) can be screwed into it. This allows LED panel lights, clamps and other accessories to be attached straight away. New feature 4: Even more secure locks for quick and reliable fixing of the tripod legs The Bubble-Grip twist locks have been improved to make handling even more comfortable and to increase stability. The newly redesigned twist locks provide greater clamping force to ensure the tripod legs are locked in place with absolute stability. Even in poor weather conditions and cold temperatures, these easy-to-grip locks are simple to operate, allowing the tripod to be set up at the desired height and position in a flash and without any awkward contortions. Another key feature of the twist locks is the locking rings, which completely prevent the tripod legs from accidentally coming loose or slipping out, as can happen with conventional twist locks. Furthermore, this achieves a significantly higher clamping force than with other locking systems. Innovation 5: Sturdy carry bag The standard drawstring bag, familiar from countless entry-level tripods, is replaced by a high-quality nylon zipped bag. Dimensionally stable, with a detachable and adjustable shoulder strap, an external side pocket for accessories and a carabiner for attaching to the D-ring on the centre column. This also provides a counterweight for additional stabilisation of the tripod. Interchangeable tripod feet for any surface The 3LT Pro 2.0 Leo is equipped with specially shaped rubber feet for a non-slip grip even on smooth surfaces. For maximum stability on any surface, the tripod feet can be unscrewed and replaced with 4 different tripod feet available as accessories. All tripod legs feature a 3/8-inch female thread with a 1/4-inch female thread adapter, allowing other accessories to be mounted.
