The FUJINON GF30mm F5.6 T/S offers extensive options for perspective and focus correction. The optical system comprises 16 elements in eleven groups, including three aspherical lenses, two ED lenses and one Super ED lens. The lens construction guarantees advanced optical correction of aberrations and high resolution. A large-diameter aspherical front element and three ED elements ensure flawless imaging performance. Distortion and chromatic aberration are corrected without the use of electronic aids. Spherical aberrations, coma and field curvature are reduced to a minimum, ensuring high sharpness right into the corners of the image even when the focal plane is shifted. The Nano GI coating developed by FUJIFILM ensures flawless image quality. It causes a slight change in the refractive index at the lens surface, thereby suppressing unwanted reflections which, particularly with wide-angle lenses, frequently cause distracting flare or ghosting.
The tilt-shift mechanism allows the focal plane to be shifted (tilt) by ±8.5° and the lens plane to be shifted (shift) by ±15 mm. The rotation function allows the lens to be rotated around its own axis by up to 90° in either direction. The optical system can thus be moved in any direction without compromising the high image quality of the GFX system. The high-performance sensor transmits the degree of shift and rotation to the camera in real time, so that the information can be displayed in the viewfinder or on the screen and saved in the image metadata. The advanced optical design of the GF30mmF5.6 T/S enables an exceptionally compact build. Although it covers an image circle of approx. 85 mm in diameter, the lens is only 138.5 mm long and weighs just 1,340 g. The use of an aspherical element as the front lens results in an easy-to-handle filter size of Ø 105 mm (with the supplied adapter ring), allowing a wide range of filter attachments to be used, for example in landscape and architectural photography.
The lens is supplied with a special tripod clamp, which also serves as an aid to correct slight shifts in the optical centre when tilting the lens plane. This helps to avoid parallax errors during shooting, enabling several individual images to be seamlessly stitched together later to create a panorama or multi-shot image.
