FUJIFILM is expanding its X Series lens range with the addition of the FUJINON XF30mm F2.8 R LM WR Macro standard macro lens. The lens joins the multi-award-winning camera system, which is renowned for its outstanding image quality, compact design and unrivalled colour reproduction.

The XF30mmF2.8 R LM WR Macro is a standard lens with a focal length of 30 mm (equivalent to 46 mm in 35 mm format). It is the ideal choice for shots that correspond to the normal viewing impression of the human eye. Compared to other lenses in this class, it stands out for its short minimum focusing distance: The minimum distance to the subject is just 10 cm*1, allowing a maximum reproduction ratio of 1:1 to be achieved. The XF30mm F2.8 allows you to take photographs from close range and guarantees maximum creative freedom. Its lightweight and compact design inspires creativity and ensures carefree photography in everyday life.

High image quality and natural depth of field

The optical design consists of eleven elements in nine groups. Three aspherical elements and two ED lenses guarantee high resolution and minimise optical aberrations such as field curvature, colour fringing and blurring (chromatic and spherical aberrations). The focal length of 30 mm (equivalent to 46 mm in 35 mm format) closely matches the normal visual perception of the human eye, making the lens the first choice for natural-looking portraits and snapshots.

Macro photography with a 1:1 reproduction ratio

The minimum focusing distance of just 10 cm, combined with the APS-C sensor, enables 1:1 magnification. Unlike conventional standard lenses, the XF30mm F2.8 thus offers greater creative freedom and is the ideal choice for expressive close-ups of people or for object photography in situations where movement is restricted.

Fast and precise autofocus

Focusing is fast and precise thanks to internal focusing. A linear motor moves the compact and lightweight focus unit to the correct position in just 0.02 seconds*2. Although a relatively large number of optical elements need to be moved, this does not adversely affect the length of the XF30mm F2.8. Thanks to the optimal arrangement of the lenses and the special design of the aspherical elements, the lens is only 69.5 mm long and therefore exceptionally compact. The 43 mm filter size also underlines the XF30mm F2.8’s portability.

Lightweight and robust body

The lens’s construction has been optimised for weight. Whilst metal controls contribute to the elegant appearance of the XF30mm F2.8, the lens mechanism uses fewer and, above all, lighter components overall. As a result, the XF30mm F2.8 weighs just 195 grams. Ideal for anyone who prioritises keeping their photographic equipment as light as possible.

Splash- and dust-proof

The weather-resistant lens barrel is sealed against moisture and dust at nine critical points. The seals also ensure the lens remains operational at low temperatures down to minus 10 degrees Celsius. The XF30mm F2.8 is therefore ideally suited for outdoor use in light rain or dusty environments.
