With a length of 43.5 mm and a weight of 245 g, the XCD 4/28P is the lightest and smallest lens in the Hasselblad X System and the lightest lens in the current medium-format lens system. The lens continues the innovative design language of the XCD series and features a metal body and a focusing ring engraved with the Hasselblad ‘H’, symbolising Hasselblad’s enduring legacy of excellent craftsmanship.

Capturing the finest nuances of light and shadow begins with the lens. The XCD 4/28P features an optical structure comprising nine elements in eight groups, including two aspherical elements and one ED glass element, ensuring superb imaging whilst effectively suppressing chromatic aberration. The lens impresses with a well-thought-out design, compact size and high performance that meets the resolution requirements of 100 million pixels. The lens delivers sharp, high-precision, high-resolution images from the centre to the edges, providing stunning image quality across the entire frame.
A slightly wider angle allows for significantly larger scenes
. With this wide-angle lens featuring a 22mm equivalent focal length and an f/4.0 aperture, it is easy to capture nature, street culture and urban architecture. Thanks to a minimum focusing distance of 22 cm and a magnification of 1:6, detailed close-ups of flowers, food and much more can be achieved effortlessly.
Flexible focusing – for candid shots
The XCD 4/28P features a linear stepper motor and a lighter, smaller lens group for focusing. When used with the X2D 100C PDAF technology, the focusing lens group can quickly reach the focus position and achieve a precise aperture setting. This results in fast, precise and responsive focusing, ensuring your scene is captured before you press the shutter.
Fast central shutter, unlimited creative freedom
The lens’s small but powerful central shutter supports flash-synchronised shooting at all shutter speeds, with a flash sync speed of up to 1/4000 s. Shoot with flash in bright sunlight to capture the dynamic contrast of your subject and highlight it whilst darkening the background.
