With the 10x30 APC, KITE offers you the latest technology in optical stabilisation. Stabilised binoculars have been available before, but that is where the similarity ends.  

The major difference lies in the correction angle. Until now, most binoculars could only correct for a maximum vibration angle of 0.5° to 1°. This corresponds to 0.8 metres to 1.7 metres at an observation distance of 100 metres. Hand tremors, observing on a windy day, or your breathing after a hike will quickly cause vibrations and movement greater than these values. The stabilised KITE APC binoculars are equipped with new technology. This technology is capable of correcting for an angle of 3°, i.e. 5.3 metres at a viewing distance of 100 metres or 53 metres at a distance of 1,000 metres. This guarantees a stable image not only when held in a shaky hand, but even from a moving vehicle or a boat on rough seas.

This very compact and lightweight device is also equipped with smart features. The electronics are powered by 2 AA batteries, which are widely available, and provide a battery life of 36 hours. To ensure not a single second of those 36 hours is wasted, this instrument has been fitted with motion sensors that put the device into sleep mode when you are not observing. The APC (Angle Power Control) function detects the position of the binoculars. When the device is vertical – for example, when it is hanging around your neck or resting on a table – it switches to sleep mode. As soon as the device returns to a more horizontal position – when you are observing – the electronics switch back on immediately. No faffing about with the on/off button, no accidentally running out of battery. Incidentally, a timer ensures that the device switches off completely after 90 minutes anyway, regardless of whether it was in active mode or sleep mode. There is also an indicator that alerts you when the battery is nearly flat.  

The APC STABILIZED binoculars are ergonomically shaped and feature a 4 cm focus wheel that can be operated very easily with three fingers. Although the APC STABILIZED doesn’t look like your average pair of binoculars, they are just as practical to use as any other pair.  

The essence of the device, of course, lies in its ability to suppress vibrations. In optical terms, we can compare this device to the performance of the KITE PETREL 32 mm.
