The very essence of the compact and lightweight Leofoto Ranger tripods is nature itself. On days-long photography expeditions, every gram and every millimetre counts to minimise the volume and weight of your kit. However, all equipment must not only be space- and weight-saving, but also meet very high standards. Stability under all circumstances – that is the requirement. The material, carbon, ensures the required lightness. Its stability and resistance to vibration ‘grow’ with the number of layers. With the exception of the Traveler tripod series and the monopods, Leofoto tripods are made from ten-layer carbon.The deliberately modular design of all tripods in the Leofoto Ranger series – with the centre column not built-in but attached only when needed – makes it possible to limit luggage to the bare essentials.
With their small diameters, the head plates of the Ranger series also fit into the space-saving concept. And because they are CNC-machined from strong aircraft-grade aluminium, they fit perfectly. The head plate screw has a 3/8” thread. The tripod legs – consisting of three to five leg sections depending on the model – slide smoothly and without twisting. They are secured by rubberised twist locks that are easy to grip. The rubber feet absorb unwanted vibrations. If necessary, they can be replaced with the supplied stainless steel spikes or optional snow and sand feet.

Leofoto Ranger RF-324C carbon tripod – large, strong and highly versatile

All tripods in the Ranger series come with a centre column, although this is not built-in but is screwed on as required. This is an ideal solution when you need to take only the essentials with you on the go. Those who don’t mind carrying extra luggage can pack the separate centre column. With it, the working height of the Ranger RF-324C increases to up to 1,705 mm. However, the tripod can also be laid completely flat; with a minimum working height of 140 mm, macro photographers in particular will be in their element. 32, 28, 25 and 22 (diameter in mm) – these are the specifications of the four segments on each tripod leg, which can be smoothly extended or retracted.

Leofoto LH-40 ball head – compact, yet extremely sturdy

Precisely CNC-machined from black anodised aircraft-grade aluminium, with a built-in spirit level. Non-slip knobs make it easy to adjust the friction smoothly yet precisely. A scale aids in its adjustment. A 360° horizontal rotation is standard, and two appropriately sized notches on the ball base allow the ball (40 mm diameter) to be tilted vertically by up to 90°. Weighing just 500 g, the Leofoto LH-40 ball head can support a load of 15 kg. Despite this strength, its height of 83 mm is still low enough to keep the centre of gravity low and reduce unwanted vibrations. With a 3/8” tripod thread. The built-in quick-release coupling also makes work easier; it comes with a QP-70 Arca-Swiss-type QR camera plate.
