Like all tripods in the Ranger series, this model is designed to accompany photographers on longer outdoor excursions in the great outdoors. Lightweight, compact and yet extremely robust and sturdy: these are all attributes that the Leofoto Ranger LS-254C Carbon Tripod embodies. The packed size is a compact 520 mm. When the leg sections are fully extended, a maximum working height of 1,285 mm is achieved, complete with the Leofoto LH-30 ball head. This is included in the complete set, as is a screw-on centre column. A multi-tool and a set of stainless steel spikes are also included – everything is supplied in a carry bag. Like the LH-30 ball head, the Ranger LS-254C can handle a load of up to 8 kg. With a combined weight of just 932 g (carbon tripod) and 308 g (ball head), the duo helps ensure that your outdoor kit doesn’t become too heavy.

Leofoto Ranger series – the ultra-lightweight yet extremely sturdy carbon tripods
The very essence of the compact and lightweight Leofoto Ranger tripods is nature itself. On days-long photography expeditions, every gram and every millimetre counts to minimise the volume and weight of your kit. Yet all equipment must not only be space- and weight-saving, but also meet very high standards. Stability under all circumstances – that is the requirement. The material, carbon, ensures the required lightness. Its stability and resistance to vibration ‘grow’ with the number of layers. With the exception of the Traveler tripod series and the monopods, Leofoto tripods are made from ten-layer carbon. The deliberately modular design of all tripods in the Leofoto Ranger series – with the centre column not built-in but attached only when needed – makes it possible to limit your luggage to the bare essentials.
With their small diameters, the head plates of the Ranger series also fit into the space-saving concept. And because they are CNC-machined from strong aircraft-grade aluminium, they fit perfectly. The head plate screw has a 3/8” thread. The tripod legs – consisting of three to five leg sections depending on the model – slide smoothly and without twisting. They are secured by rubberised twist locks that are easy to grip. The rubber feet absorb unwanted vibrations. If necessary, they can be replaced with the supplied stainless steel spikes or optional snow and sand feet.
Leofoto Ranger LS-254C carbon tripod – tall and short at the same time
Minimised to the max, so to speak – that’s all the carbon tripods in the Ranger series. For this reason, they have no built-in centre column. In most cases, this proves ideal for on the go. Those who want to go higher and are willing to accept a little more weight and space can simply pack the separately supplied centre column in their photography kit. When screwed on, the working height of the Leofoto Ranger LS-254C carbon tripod increases by a maximum of 315 mm, bringing it up to a comfortable 1,614 mm. The leg spread, on the other hand, allows you to shoot at a working height of just 152 mm above the ground – a particularly ideal option for macro photographers. Each tripod leg consists of four smoothly sliding sections, with diameters of 25, 22, 19 and 16 mm.
Leofoto LH-30 Ball Head – small yet powerful
Precisely CNC-machined from black anodised aircraft-grade aluminium, with a built-in spirit level. Horizontal rotation of 360° and vertical tilt of up to 90° of the ball (30 mm diameter) are controlled and held in place by the sturdy wing nut. Weighing just 308 g, the Leofoto LH-30 ball head can still support a load of 15 kg. A height of 80 mm means the centre of gravity is low, which also reduces unwanted vibrations. Features a 3/8” tripod thread and a scale on the tripod plate, making precise adjustment easier. The built-in quick-release coupling also makes work easier; it comes with a BPL-50 Arca-Swiss-type QR camera plate.
