Leofoto Urban EF-284CT + XB-32 Ball Head Carbon Fibre Tripod

Leofoto Urban EF-284CT Carbon Fibre Tripod with XB-32 Ball Head

This sturdy tripod is very lightweight and, what’s more, incredibly easy to handle. If you’re looking for a carbon fibre tripod that’s absolutely versatile, robust and comfortable to use, you’ve come to the right place. It weighs just 1,340 g, yet can support a load of 15 kg. With the centre column fully extended (it’s built-in), the working height is 1,660 mm. Shots taken very close to the ground are also possible, at a minimum height of just 210 mm. The overall slim Leofoto Urban EF-284CT has a pleasantly compact packed size of just 460 mm in length. Such a lightweight, compact, strong and yet ultimately versatile carbon fibre tripod is a pleasure to take along on photography trips and tours, to name just a few of its most popular uses. It is supplied as a set, together with the Leofoto XB-32 ball head (weighing 300 g), a multi-tool and a set of stainless steel spikes. Everything fits into the carry bag, which is also included.

Leofoto – lightweight, slim carbon fibre tripods, versatile and intuitive to use

Quite a few ambitious users would like to have a fairly large tripod with them almost all the time when taking photographs. However, it must not be a burden to carry nor complicated to use. Naturally, it should be robust enough to handle heavy loads and be suitable for every type of photography, but its functions must be completely intuitive, i.e. straightforward to use. Leofoto carbon fibre tripods meet these requirements with ease, as that is precisely what they are designed for.

However, lightness and simplicity by no means mean compromising on quality and stability. This is because the tripods in this series are also made from ten layers of carbon fibre, as is standard with Leofoto. With their high stability, the carbon legs contribute just as much to the success of good photos as their rather inconspicuous, yet by no means unimportant, vibration-absorbing rubber feet. The included stainless steel spikes can provide even better stability on difficult terrain. The leg sections slide smoothly without twisting in the slightest. And thanks to the non-slip rubberised twist locks, releasing or securing each individual leg section is extremely quick. One of the three upper leg sections is softly padded. This is not only comfortable to the touch but can also relieve strain on the shoulder when carrying the tripod, with the camera attached, slung over the shoulder to the next shooting location.

The packed size is as compact as possible. This is made possible by folding the tripod legs back 180°. In this way, they enclose the respective ball head sitting on the built-in centre column – it does not protrude. Not to be forgotten: none of the metal parts on Leofoto tripods are forged or moulded. Instead, they are exclusively CNC-machined from high-strength aircraft-grade aluminium to ensure absolute precision and robustness.

Conclusion: Nice and slim, super-light, compact, yet sturdy – and when it matters, it extends to a respectable length in an instant. All this makes this Leofoto carbon tripod the ideal all-round tripod for practically any photographic project – but especially when travelling. Simply perfect!

Leofoto Urban EF-284CT carbon fibre tripod – slim yet sturdy

Slim and lightweight in overall build, the EF-284CT has thoroughly sturdy tripod legs. Their four segments each can be moved with an extremely smooth glide and released or locked in place in a flash with a quick twist. The diameters of the individual leg segments are 28, 25, 22 and 19 mm, ensuring a secure footing even when, for example, a heavier DSLR is ‘loaded’ onto the included XB-32 ball head.

Leofoto XB-32 ball head – small, but by no means weak

Leofoto carbon tripods always come complete with a matching Leofoto ball head. In this case, it is the XB-32, which, with a load capacity of 15 kg, is just as sturdy as the tripod and therefore a perfect match. It features a 3/8” thread at the bottom for the tripod and a ¼” screw at the top, making it suitable for practically any camera. The 32 mm thick ball head is pleasantly easy to rotate and tilt. A large, comfortable knob allows for smooth adjustment of the friction and keeps the 32 mm thick ball securely in place. With the built-in quick-release coupling and the Arca-Swiss-compatible BPL-50 QR camera plate, mounting the camera is quick and reliable, almost effortless.
