The Panasonic Lumix G100D is a compact, mirrorless system camera in the Micro Four Thirds format, designed particularly for beginners and content creators looking for a lightweight, versatile camera for travel, everyday use and social media. The 12–32mm kit lens corresponds to a 35mm equivalent of approx. 24–64mm, covering typical focal lengths for landscape, street and everyday photography. The maximum aperture is f/3.5 at the wide-angle end and f/5.6 at the telephoto end. The lens is very compact in design and weighs only around 70 grams.

The camera supports 5-axis hybrid image stabilisation (primarily for video) as well as electronic stabilisation for video recording. Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11b/g/n) and Bluetooth Low Energy are available for connectivity. Power is supplied via a lithium-ion battery with USB charging capability.
