The Slide is Peak Design’s widest strap. It is the flagship of the Peak Design strap system. Its key feature is its immense versatility. The Slide can be worn as a neck strap, a shoulder strap or a sling strap. Other features include high comfort, quick access to the camera and fold-out metal buckles for one-handed length adjustment. Added to this is a comfortable yet very secure fastening system. All these features make the Slide a strap that is perfect in every respect for SLR cameras of all sizes and for mirrorless medium-format cameras.

Flatter, more flexible, flatter snap fasteners, non-slip rubber coating, no accidental adjustment

In 2017, the Slide underwent a comprehensive facelift, resulting in numerous detailed improvements. One key enhancement concerns the rubber coating, which is located on one side of the strap. The new rubber coating offers significantly better grip than that of the old Slide straps. In the area of the webbing buckle, the Slide Lite is flatter than its predecessor. This is partly due to flatter buckles and flatter folding loops. Furthermore, one end of the strap is integrated directly into the webbing buckle. This not only makes the harness flatter, but also has another very significant benefit: the harness no longer adjusts itself so easily, as there is now only a single layer of webbing running directly over the plastic buckle. This ensures greater friction and provides a better grip. On the previous model, two smooth nylon webbing straps ran over one another, which did not provide sufficient friction. The strap still features a thin inner pad, which helps cushion the weight of the camera attached to it. However, the new pad is more pliable than in the previous model, making the strap more flexible. At the same time, the pad does not become permanently bent, even after prolonged use.

A perfectly engineered, secure attachment system with snap fasteners and anchor loops

A special feature is the clever attachment system, which the Slide shares with all other Peak Design straps. The system consists of the snap fasteners on the strap itself and the sturdy anchor loops for securing it to the respective camera. The anchor loops and snap fasteners are extremely securely connected, yet can still be detached from one another with one hand. Thanks to this system, you can attach the strap to your camera quickly and easily. There are countless ways to attach the anchor loops to your camera: for example, you can attach the loops to the strap eyelets, or you can secure them to the camera’s tripod socket using the included camera plate. A combination of both is also possible.

Flatter snap fasteners and anchor loops with slanted discs for easier engagement

The Slide has flatter snap fasteners than its predecessor. The anchor loops have also been optimised. They feature slightly bevelled discs, which make them easier to snap into place. The snap fasteners and anchor loops are backwards compatible with their older counterparts.
