Spacious 45-litre travel rucksack with modular packing cube system for cameras and clothing

With the Travel Line, Peak Design offers a modular luggage system for short breaks, business trips and city breaks. In addition to the Backpack 45L and its eponymous capacity of up to 45 litres, there is also a complete system of packing cubes that can be seamlessly inserted into the rucksack for optimal use of space. The system includes various packing cubes for clothes, photography equipment, electronic gadgets, shoes and toiletries. You can combine the packing cubes in different ways, always to suit your trip.

Compression zip and a collapsible section for adjusting the pack volume

In its standard state, the rucksack has a volume of 35 litres. In this state, the rucksack can hold three modular units and a Wash or Tech Pouch. We’ll come back to that later. The rucksack’s volume can be increased to 45 litres, which expands the storage space. The whole thing works very simply. You just need to open the compression zip. The smallest possible volume for the rucksack is 30 litres, which is achieved by folding down the upper section of the rucksack. On the inside of the rucksack there are press studs that hold the rucksack in the folded position. In this so-called daypack mode, the rucksack can only hold pack cubes in the lower section.

Storage space for up to three pack cube modules and a Tech or Wash Pouch

Each packing cube from the Travel Line system counts as a specific number of module units, three of which can be stowed in the rucksack. For example: the small Camera Cube counts as one module unit, whilst a fully packed Packing Cube Medium counts as two module units. So you can stow a Camera Cube and a Packing Cube Medium in the Backpack 45L. It’s that simple. And there’s still room left for a Tech Pouch or a Wash Pouch.

Ergonomic shoulder straps with swivel joints for an optimal fit against the body and a hip belt

The Backpack 45L features ergonomic shoulder straps with swivel joints. The joints ensure an optimal fit against the body. There is also a padded hip belt, also with swivel joints. The hip belt is equipped with a small zipped pocket and accessory loops for a Capture Clip or Range Pouch. Length adjustability goes without saying in both cases.

Versatile foldable back panel with storage space to conceal the shoulder and hip straps

The foldable back pad also offers a high degree of versatility. You can leave the pad unfolded as a single layer. This provides a large surface area for support. Integrated magnets secure the outer wings of the back pad so they do not stick out. You can fold the pad into a double layer to allow more airflow against your back. There is also the option to stow the shoulder straps and hip belt behind the pad. This option is ideal if you carry the rucksack in your hand like a travel bag. For this purpose, there are carrying handles on almost all sides, one of which even functions as a trolley loop.

Back panel as a rear flap for access to the main compartment of the rucksack

You can access the main compartment of the rucksack from the back. The entire back panel can be opened. The front flap gives you access to the front compartment and its numerous accessory pockets. In the middle there is a divider panel fitted with a zip, so you can open it to access the main compartment from the front as well. The divider can be stowed away in a dedicated compartment. This gives you permanent access to the main compartment from both sides.
